That thread spawned several things, one of which is a Python SIG proposal [1]. The purpose of the SIG would be, among other things, to create a web site with sample code and articles. The initial proposal only talks about creation of the site, but in the process, some starting documents would have to be written and a sample code pool could be built over time. The proposal hasn't received very many comments so it's doubtful if it will happen. Post to the Meta-SIG list [2] if you'd like to comment or endorse the proposal.
