Since you're using Firefox, install the Live HTTP headers plugin:

  http://livehttpheaders.mozdev.org/

It's extremely useful for troubleshooting exactly this kind of problem, 
because it allows you to see all the information in both the client and 
server headers, including Content-Type and caching information.
