[mod_python] Converting code from standard CGI

Hello List:

I have a very large project now running as standard CGI.  I wish to
convert that project for mod_python.  Intially, I would like that
conversion to entail as little code rewriting as possible. In time, I
could then learn about and better utilize the resources of mod_python.

I would welcome tips, hints and pointers to documentation on this
matter.
