[mod_python] URL without .py wont work

Hello all,

I have set my apache.conf to:
AddHandler mod_python .py
PythonHandler mod_python.publisher
PythonDebug On

I have also tried 'SetHandler mod_python', instead of the AddHandler line. No 
mater what I set to, I still always have to use '.py' in my URL. If I remove 
the '.py. I get a 404 error and this in my apache log:

Negotiation: discovered file(s) matching 
request: /var/www/localhost/htdocs/python/testtmpl (None could be 
negotiated).

any advice ?
