[mod_python] One file controlled site: howto

Hello !

I want to control my website with one file, the main.py.
I want that:
 - the index, or index.html, or the empty request is redirected to
   main.py
   http://rootdir/index
   http://rootdir/index.html
   http://rootdir/index.htm
   http://rootdir/main
   http://rootdir/

   is let same thing, everyone is let load the main.py.
   
 - the main.py is let hidden in request !
   or if it is not possible, the .py is let hidden !
   So the site is let used with this:
   http://rootdir/
   or
   http://rootdir/main
   and not
   http://rootdir/main.py


Can anyone help me with this tricks ?
