[mod_python] Newbie says: "What and where is this ./configure script?"

  I'm running Mandrake 7.2, with apache, python, mod_python all installed
from RPMs.  Apache 1.3.14, Python 1.5.2.

  The mod_python RPM installed a mod_python.so but not mod_python.c .  
Apache makes a complaint about mod_python.so and the installed
instructions say I have to build it anyhow so I assume I can't use this
.so.
